The AI and vector capabilities make Supabase particularly relevant for AI-powered applications. pgvector extension enables storing and querying vector embeddings directly in PostgreSQL. This means you can build RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) applications, semantic search and AI features using your existing database.
Authentication supports email, OAuth, magic links and phone authentication out of the box. Row-level security provides fine-grained access control. Real-time subscriptions push database changes to connected clients instantly.
The free tier is generous: 500MB database, 1GB storage, 50,000 monthly active users. Pro at $25 per month provides 8GB database and 100GB storage. Enterprise pricing is custom.
