Riff: Overview

Riff is a free Chrome extension that helps you write personalized replies, direct messages, and social media posts using AI. It works with platforms including X, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, helping you create relevant content without switching between multiple tools.

Powered by Gemini Nano, Chrome's built-in AI model, Riff generates responses based on the post, conversation, or notes you provide. You can adjust the tone, length, writing style, and level of sales messaging to match your needs. It also offers one-click rewriting options to make your drafts shorter, punchier, softer, bolder, or more natural.

Beyond replying to posts and messages, Riff can help you write original social media content from rough notes, generate alternative hooks, create X threads, and adapt posts for different platforms. You can also configure your personal writing voice, save reusable notes and links, and create separate brand voices for different businesses or clients.

Riff runs locally in Chrome using Gemini Nano, without requiring API keys, external AI servers, or a monthly subscription. Your saved writing preferences and content history remain in your browser on your computer.

Riff is designed for creators, entrepreneurs, marketers, and professionals who want to communicate more efficiently while maintaining their own voice. It generates drafts for you to review and insert into the relevant text box, but **you remain in control of every reply, message, and post**. Riff does not publish or send content automatically.

The extension requires a compatible desktop version of Chrome and a one-time download of the Gemini Nano model. Once configured, it helps streamline everyday social media communication and content creation directly from your browser.
